Clinical Support

The Gould Farm Clinical Team is a presence 7 days a week with on-call duty. Guests are assigned a clinician (contact person) who assist guests in their initial assessment and treatment planning process with collaboration from residential, nursing and work team staffs as well as our Transitions Counselor and our psychiatrist.  Other members of the Gould Farm community participate in planning sessions as well, on an as needed basis.

A guest’s admission to the Gould Farm program is followed by a comprehensive intake meeting with members of the Clinical Team and regularly scheduled sessions with an assigned clinician. These sessions include addressing cognitive behavior, coping skills, compensatory strategies, daily living skills, relationships and particular developmental needs.  Medications are prescribed by our psychiatrist, held in the Nursing Office and distributed on schedule.  At the appropriate time, guests prepare their own medication packages and, when they are ready, hold the medication in a locked box in their room.  The Nursing Office is also available for first aid while full medical services can be made available locally.

Guests begin planning for transition and a greater level of independence when stabilization and symptoms permit.  Planning meetings take place regularly and include evaluating the progress of their goals and planning for transition and a level of independence.   When appropriate, family members can be invited to these meetings.
